ThanksDear Tribe - Kindred Souls,
Nurse Rose, here – I am not sure how many people read my blog, or are even aware that I have a blog, but I do, so I have decided to start putting my blogging to work; for myself. So if you do, do read my blog (that is)– Thank You first, and foremost. I would love a message letting me know so, this would really encourage me to write more consistently. I must share - I @nrzrose https://www.instagram.com/nrzrose/ #Nurserose and @TheRoseYarde https://www.instagram.com/theroseyarde/?hl=en on IG have logged out of Instagram (IG), and continue hoping to not do much interactions on the IG forum until July 13, 2018. What am I doing till then? I am taking this time to reorganize and refocus my goals and to meet a personal deadline – which is to assure that I make my deadline. The Rose Yarde GRAND OPENING - JULY 20, 2018 @1200!! . This is also to allow me to step back, take a look at what it is I really want to present, then implement doing so with a clearer vision, and inevitably a clearer message for my followers.
What has been going on with my hats– How many hats do I wear anyways?
Motherhood: I am a divorced mother of 4 children, date of freedom – AKA Dday, Divorce day – June 2, 2016. The complication to this divorce, is my eldest son (Aaron) is not my Ex-husbands biological son. Aarons father passed away a little over 1 year ago May 17, 2017. This has been a really difficult road for my teenager and I now have a whole view of teen grief, depression, and even acute hospitalization. In addition, I still have a child artist, child musician, child singer/songwriter on my hands. An engineer in training, and a miniature future physician – here being grown in my yard. Nurse Practitioner: I am finding a great deal of push-back from medicine as a group when it comes to the independence of nurse practitioners in other states, even more push-back when it is mentioned here in California. This is something that I will have to discuss in extent at a later date. Opening a medical practice as a nurse practitioner in Los Angeles is so possible. I will enjoy sharing about this. I had to get myself this mug especially with all the tea I enjoy… Just perfectly imperfect. I love Doctors, its time that we as nurses are heard - time for us to weigh in, people are dying...suicide kills - so its as good a time for nursing action as any. #IJS.
Instagram - I must confess that 2K followers was my goal. A goal that I decided that I wanted to attain and started working on mentally on December 7, 2017, - then aggressively and actively starting January 1, 2018 – So understand that I went from 259 followers on January 3rd to 2056 followers as of June 20, 2018. This has opened so many new doors for me and now at the 2K mark – I find that I have started to gain a monetary value for my efforts. I am officially an Affiliate for a few companies as well as an Instagram Influencer. This is what also encourages me to offer added value.
This encourages me to “Bring It”
Author: Around the same time, I decided to be an Instagrammer….at the beginning of 2018, where and when I decided to write my first book: Where Do Roses Grow Up? @TheRoseYarde https://amzn.to/2MJ3pRi - I published this book in two weekends with the help of CreatSpace, independent publishing. https://amzn.to/2MGEy0y
Art Gallery Mental Healthcare: I am diligently working on the ironing out of an innovative healthcare model that attempts to place nurses and nursing caring at the forefront of systemic change in Mental Health. Check out our "Inclusion Rocks" painted rainbow ombre and gold rock wall.
Global and International Nursing: I do not have much to write about in this location- but I am so ready to walk through whatever doors that this designation will offer me…I am so ready to get my elbows dirty taking care of this community. But wait- What designation? Oh- I was inducted into International Nurses Association – and recognized as an international community nurse leader. Exciting!! This is my 2nd Community Nursing Leader designation.
My Nursing Leader Designations To Date 1. Sigma Theta Tau International - Community Nurse Leader – 2012 2. International Nurses Association – International Community Nurse Leader- 2018 The Student in Me: I am also a lifelong learner, so I am finalizing my application to Loma Linda School of Nursing. I bet you are wondering why it is that I need to continue studying? Well I feel that despite all of my education…as a Post-Masters prepared Nurse Practitioner – why? Well because like my mom said. Excellent skills are demanded where I am going. This almost forces me to learn the best way to help heal and support mental health recovery. If I am going to identify that the status of mental health in America is pieces…then I must prepare to offer a solution. I like Loma Linda University for so many reasons…my number #1 reason is encompassed in their statement: “ Loma Linda University educates and encourages a balanced life – high tech science, research, and spirituality. Through the values of humility, compassion, justice, integrity, excellence, freedom, and self-control you are invited to participate in top-level scientific questions and research while engaging your spirituality. Most people find it surprising to associate humility, academia, and healthcare!” - retrieved 06/20/2018 from http://www.llu.edu/explore/why-llu2.html Educator: I started my first University level teaching position this summer at California State University, Los Angeles – Nursing!! YAY! In love with my students- in a wholesome “teachery” type of way. I see passion in their eyes and I love that. There is so much more to share about this aspect of my life..but I shall enjoy sharing, as I do actually teaching. sponsored by Tastemade
Gardener: I have continued to work on the plants in my secret garden and also have started to work on the ivy and water preservation vines at The Rose Yarde office, I love to see the growth in progress. Lover: I have embarked upon a long distance relationship with an awesome gentleman..he is from Nigeria. He has so much culture, I am excited to learn. What I have learned so far? My beau is the son of a Yoruba Chief, the Odunga family – OMG I am in LOVE - He is Nigerian royalty! His mom is my type of woman – she emancipated from her husband, and she is simply a beautiful soul! Another great thing I learned? There is this festival in Nigeria each year called Ojude Oba Festival in Ijebu Ode https://amzn.to/2loEGFK . This festival is a gathering of indigenes of Ijebuland who gather at the Awujale Palace to pay their respect to the Royal Majesty. Members of the royal family parade with pomp and pageantry and their regal stallions. Let me enunciate, clearly, my beau has been riding stallions since he was a child. All I have to say is – Thank You Lord!
Those are most of my hats for now. Although I do want to share - I believe every single hat that we wear, must be able to provide some type of reward or financial gain. Most recognized is financial...So lets say- if each of our hats must be financially rewarding? Does this mean that I believe in having at least 7 sources of income? I would say ABSOLUTELY!
The formulation of this blog Notes Rose' has been something of a passion and something of a burden all in one – both for great reasons. I typically spend a great deal of my day writing or mostly thinking of things that I would like to write about, other times there are thoughts that I say, I definitely wish I could have written some of those down; then actually write then down, these are the fruits of that internal narrative. Smile I wanted to share a post to let my tribe know that I am getting ready, getting organized, doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Dear Tribe, all of this that I am? I am so ready, wil, ling, and worthy of taking this all to the next level. You can do this too! We can journey together. I will continue to use this blog to serve as a written log of this journey - where ever it shall lead. I look forward to writing more soon. God is Good. Best, Nurse Rose @ The Rose Yarde sponsored by Star Wars Authentics
